On December 9, 2016, Mr. Waterman served legal malpractice suit on the law firm of Geddy Harris, Franck & Hickman, L.L.P. in Williamsburg, among other things for its failure to file suit on time for the motor vehicle accident victim who had retained it to represent her for the significant personal injuries she suffered. The current legal malpractice suit is Sunhai Chung “Sue” Sydow v. Geddy, Harris, Franck & Hickman, L.L.P., No. CL16001318-00, which arises from the dismissal with prejudice by the Circuit Court for the City of Williamsburg and James City County, Virginia, of the victim’s MVA lawsuit refiled late by the Geddy law firm, Sunhai Sydow v. James Gallagher, No. CL14001085-00.

Stunningly, in its Answer dated December 28, 2016, Geddy, Harris, Franck & Hickman, L.L.P. denied all legal malpractice and responsibility for its late filing that cost its MVA victim client all recovery for the serious personal injury damages for which the Geddy firm was representing her. By being rear-ended in Williamsburg in 2011, the local career school teacher suffered spinal fusion, nerve relocation, bone grafts, and multiple scars/disfigurement; multiple operative procedures and scores of physical therapy treatments and office visits; 4 months in a hard neck collar; 5-6 months out of work; $100,000.00 in past medical expenses; and permanencies such as neuropathies and limitations/disabilities in her dominant hand.
